TOKYU REIT, Inc. Executive Director Messages upon Change of Executive Director
I resigned from the position of executive director of TOKYU REIT on April 30, 2015. I served as executive director for 12 years since the establishment of TOKYU REIT in 2003. During this period, the Tokyo office market experienced two large volumes of supply (in 2003 and 2012) and, with the global financial crisis triggered by the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers in between, the real estate financial market has had its share of hardships. Nevertheless, at 1,852 points as of May 15, 2015, the TSE REIT Index has recovered to a level that is approximately 70% of the May 2007 peak. There is a great number of people to thank, from within and outside, that kindly offered their support to enable me to serve as executive director through the one market cycle since the J-REITs’ early period. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation.
